We are currently seeking a Facility & Safety Engineer/Manager to work in Watsonville, CA.Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and continuous operation of the company’s two sites. This role includes the management and maintenance of structures and equipment, adhering to corporate, local, state, and federal regulations. The candidate will also oversee site safety, manage chemical products and waste, and implement safety policies to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Additionally, the role involves developing robust processes to guarantee accurate and complete documentation of all chemical handling in accordance with regulatory requirements.Responsibilities:

Regularly inspecting facilities, identifying maintenance, repair, and improvement needs for Micro Assembly machines.
Performing facilities maintenance tasks, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and general building upkeep.
Ensuring premises security in collaboration with security service providers.
Developing and implementing preventive maintenance (PM) programs and verifying equipment performance.
Managing relationships with external vendors for facility-related services.
Chairing the safety committee.
Maintaining the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and training new and existing employees accordingly.
Ensuring company compliance with OSHA regulations.
Collaborating with HR to develop a safety-focused onboarding process for new employees.
Conducting risk assessments for processes and positions.
Maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensuring compliance with hazard communication requirements.
Supervising the hazardous waste disposal process.
Providing training to associates as needed.
Drafting safety documents as required.
Planning, implementing, and managing comprehensive environmental safety and health programs on-site.
Performing other duties as assigned, including acting as the Site Safety Officer and Primary Emergency Coordinator when necessary.
Updating the Contingency Plan as required.
This position includes supervisory duties over a maintenance crew of one.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, or a related discipline preferred.
Associate of Science in Electrical Engineering (ASEE) or equivalent experience.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, engineering, construction, occupational safety and health, or a related field.
Previous supervisory experience is required.
Professional training in occupational health and safety.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications and experience with PM databases.
Strong leadership abilities.
Excellent communication, meeting, and presentation skills.
Familiarity with time reporting systems.
