Job Description
We are currently seeking a Grinding Process Engineer in Bethel, CT.
Duration: Direct Hire
Location: Bethel, CT.
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000
Summary: Responsible for the execution and optimization of grinding processes for semi-finished and finished Nitinol components. This role demands a high level of technical understanding of grinding equipment and applications, along with strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.Responsibilities:
Support Component and Manufacturing Engineering teams as a technical liaison for grinding process technologies (Centerless, Thru-feed, Pointing, ECG).
Collaborate with internal and external customers to develop processes, instructions, and maintenance plans.
Apply technical knowledge to manufacture small diameter, tight tolerance components.
Design and oversee robust, cost-effective grinding processes.
Troubleshoot problems and define preventative and corrective actions.
Establish costs for new ground products and evaluate cost implications of changes.
Generate system documentation including prints, procedures, and work instructions.
Present findings to customers and management as necessary.
Maintain, repair, and upgrade grinding systems as necessary.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and external regulations (e.g., FDA).
Qualifications:
BS or MS in Engineering with 5+ years of relevant grinding experience.
Familiarity with Royal Master and Glebar Centerless Grinders and ECG grinders (Everite/Tridex).
Proficient with MS Office.
Solid mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Flexibility regarding priority changes.
Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
