We are currently seeking a Senior Mechatronics Service Technician in Orlando, FL.
Responsibilities:
  • The Sr. Mechatronics Service Technician acts as the primary face to the customer providing technical assistance and support by installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and answering technical questions as well as recommending preventative solutions. 
  • Working closely with customers, Sales, Customer Service, Engineering and Manufacturing team members to diagnose and repair Harmonic Drive actuators. This role is responsible for driving customer satisfaction through service excellence.
  • Ensure customer devices are working correctly by always providing world class service.
  • Assist customers with identifying if product is the root cause of their disruption and if so, troubleshooting of the product, repair of product and communication of defects and trends to the Assembly Operations.
  • Operate and maintain a remote service center in effort to support local customers.
  • Work hands-on with a wide variety of assembly and test equipment and processes with a focus on Electro-mechanical assembly and functional tests.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective action of functional discrepancies.
  • Reviews of customer field data to determine trends
  • Diagnose, disassemble, repair and re-assemble electromechanical components/assemblies for return to customer.
  • Configuring hardware and software components after installation.
  • Communicate real time data to Assembly Operation and engineering to ensure process and design enhancements are implemented to improve yield in the field.
  • Assist the customer in upgrading equipment at various field locations.
  • Documentation of field installation and repairs.
  • Maintaining all tools and equipment used during service calls and in local lab.
  • Keep up to date on administrative responsibilities such as ordering repair parts, lab and office consumables.
  • Teach customers how to diagnose properly
 Qualifications:
  • Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process.
  • Experience with soldering per IPC-610, wiring, crimping, and using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use common diagnostic equipment including an oscilloscope, DMM, power supply, etc.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Experience with robotic control systems and programming is a plus
  • General computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work creatively and responsibly with minimal supervision
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • This job operates in both customer locations as well as a remote HD office and lab environment located in the Orlando, Florida area. This position will report directly to the Service Center Manager located in Beverly Massachusetts.
  • Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions and drawings and to inspect electro-mechanical parts closely
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to conduct precision work
  • Ability to do work requiring frequent stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, bending, twisting and lifting
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, move, talk, hear, bend and reach with hands / arms.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent local travel to customer sites is expected, with occasional trips to the Beverly, Massachusetts headquarters required.
  • Associate’s degree in manufacturing technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline required; an advanced degree is a plus. This could include past roles as a Military or Veteran with electro-mechanical experience, HVAC/Cable Internet technician, Electrician, Automotive Mechanic or Repair.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment.
  • Experience with CAN, CAN-Open, PLC logic, Copley Controls and Python Scripts. EtherCAT is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license, own vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
